The Office for Gender Equality advises university units and individuals on gender equality issues. In addition, there are various offices within and outside the university that offer advice on the topic of reconciliation of work-life-balance.
The University of Bern is careful to take account of the current extraordinary situation and recognises that studying and working parents and employees with caring responsibilities are not able to perform their workload to the usual extent due to the pandemic.

Coaching on the reconciliation of family and career/studies offered by the Office for Gender Equality in cooperation with the "Fachstelle UND - Familien- und Erwerbsarbeit für Männer und Frauen". It is a coaching for employees and students of the University of Bern and their partners on how to reconcile work and family/private life.
The Welcome Center is a central information and advisory service for newly employed researchers and lecturers and their families. It offers concrete assistance for the time before and during your stay in Bern and advises on topics such as finding accommodation, health insurance, budget planning, German courses, childcare and similar challenges.
The Counselling Centre Universities of Bern offers free and confidential advice for students and staff on various topics and career issues.
